See once the PST file gets oversized, it became corrupt. Now regarding your query you need to perform below steps

  1. You need to use a tool to repair pst file -
    I recommend http://www.pstfilerecovery.org
  2. Once pst file is repaired then you can use another tool to split pst file into required parts as per your need.
    I recommend http://www.splitpst.com

I hope you will be able to access your pst file emails again.

I am also running my computer shop and use such tools to help my clients.

Hi,

For Outlook 2000 the size limit for PST file is 2 GB. If it exceeds more than 2 GB then file gets corrupted. To handle the oversized PST file split it into small parts with the help of an efficient third party PST File Splitter. It splits the PST file efficiently on different criteria like date, email id, folder size etc..

For complete information about PST File Splitter see here - http://www.stellarinfo.com/split-pst-file.htm

Microsoft has provided PST2GB utility to make the size of pst file small but it increases the risk of losing valuable data as it truncates the data from pst file.
